BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Fall is still a month away, but pumpkin spice lattes are already back in New England.
Pumpkin spice lattes returned to Starbucks on Thursday. The coffee chain is one of the first places in the area to offer the seasonal treat.
WBZ NewsRadio spoke to some locals who had mixed opinions on the pumpkin spice craze.
“I love seeing the joy and the excitement people get for pumpkin, it makes my day to know that people get really excited about it even though it's a once-a-year thing,” one local said.

“I’m not a fan of pumpkin spice, but I like dark roast,” added another.
“No, I don’t think it’s too early for a pumpkin spice latte in August,” said another.
The pumpkin spice latte made its debut at Starbucks in 2003.
Dunkin’ has not announced when they will roll out their fall menu, but they did announce the release of a new alcoholic product available at retailers this month, the Dunkin’ Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte.
The product will not be available online or at Dunkin’ locations.
