The Warm Weather Is Here In Massachusetts And So Is The Pollen

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — "The Pollening" has begun in Massachusetts. It's scratchy eyes and runny noses across the region right now.

Tree, grass, and flower pollen are coming out in full force and as the temperature rises over the next few days, it's only going to get worse.

"We've already had the pollen coming out here for the spring but with temperatures soaring well into the 70's and 80's, it will just exasperate that here," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Carl Erickson.

In fact, Erickson said you likely won't be able to put the Zyrtec and Claritin away until late this weekend.

"As we start to change the weather pattern here and as a cold front comes through to flush all of that out, we'll pick up the wind but more importantly bring some rain into the area Sunday into Monday," said Erickson.

He added the pollen count will remain high through the rest of the week. For more information on pollen levels in your area, you can check out pollen.com.
