BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A "No Kings!" protest is planned on Oct. 18 in Boston, with organizers expecting thousands to attend.
Several groups, including the ACLU of Massachusetts, Indivisible Mass Coalition, and Mass 50501, have helped organize the rally on Boston Common. Among other issues, organizers said they will protest against the Trump Administration's immigration policies, funding and healthcare cuts, a lack of response to mass shootings, and "silencing voters through gerrymandering and voter suppression."
With more than 30 activist groups also expected to attend, the national day of action is billed as a movement against what organizers call "abuses, cruelty, and corruption of the Trump regime." Organizations in Boston have issued several calls to action leading up to the event including protecting immigrants, holding elected representatives accountable and fighting for individual freedoms and dollars.
