Three Juveniles Arrested For Violent Assault At MBTA Andrew Station

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – Three teenagers have been arrested for attacking a man at an MBTA station.

At around 11:45 Sunday night, Transit Police officers responded to a call at Andrew Square Station of an assault. Upon arrival officers found the victim, a 43-year-old male, dazed and disoriented. A witness told police they had found the victim lying face down and unconscious in the busway.

Officers discovered that a group of about 15 juveniles passed through the busway and violently slammed the victim to the ground, where his head struck the cement and was rendered unconscious.

While on the ground, two more teens proceeded to kick and punch the victim in the head. The group then fled the area.

After multiple transit officers responded to the area, they found a large group of teens inside the parking lot at the South Bay Mall. The ones police deemed responsible were taken into custody for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Among those arrested were a 17-year-old male from Mattapan, a 14-year-old male from Hyde Park, and a 16-year-old male from Dorchester.

The victim was taken to hospital in the area for emergency treatment.
