NATICK, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – While most people are wishing the winter blues away, there’s one business that craves the cold.

Winter weather means good business for indoor attractions like Jam Time. With locations in Maynard, Natick and Norwood, the children’s indoor play area has always made their living off poor weather.

“We love the cold. We love the snow. We love the rain,” said Mandy Sim, owner of the Jam Time. “With any inclement weather we definitely see a boost in our numbers.”

Sim has dealt with several different challenges in her line of work, including parents trying to get their kids to leave Jam Time. Recently, the biggest threat has been the Coronavirus and the spread of the Omicron variant.

“We literally spray down every single toy between every single booking,” she said.

This comes as most of the kids that attend Jam Time are too young to be vaccinated and those under the age of two cannot wear masks. However, Sim has made it work by providing more private bookings and scrubbing down the entire space.

“I don’t mind any of the extra work if it means happy, smiling kids and families.”

Sim also added that her location has seen no shortage of private bookings and a surplus of joyful kids and their families. Anyone interested in booking a private party can do so online.
