BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Marathon Monday is upon us. The race begins at 9:02 a.m. with the men's wheelchair division. The Boston Athletic Association has put out a list of discouraged items and travel tips for spectators.

Among the "discouraged" items at the Copley Square finish line:

  • Weapons or items of any kind that may be used as weapons.
  • Backpacks or any similar item.
  • Suitcases and rolling bags.
  • Coolers.
  • Glass containers or cans.
  • Flammable liquids, fuels, fireworks or explosives.
  • Any container capable of carrying more than 1 liter of liquid.
  • Handbags or packages or bulky items larger than 12 inches x 12 inches x 6 inches.
  • Large blankets/comforters, duvets, sleeping bags.
  • Costumes covering the face or any non-form fitting, bulky outfits.

The B.A.A. says bringing any of those things to the finish line could mean a longer wait at security, if you get in at all. Local police have also said the entire race is a "No-Drone Zone," meaning you'll need to keep the overhead shots at home.
