BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston drivers are known to be aggressive but don’t expect them to let you in if you try to cut them off.
Everyone has seen drivers make a last-second merge on highway exits, hoping to save time by not waiting in line like the rest of the drivers.
“It doesn’t help anything,” said one Boston resident. “It makes it 10 times worse. You jam everything else up and it’s just very aggravating.”
Most drivers are guilty of doing it from time to time, but that does not mean those on the receiving end will let you skip the line.
WBZ’s James Rojas asked some Boston drivers how they treat merging menaces trying to cut them off.
“Keep them out, they should’ve gotten in back there,” said one unforgiving resident.
“I do the same thing,” said another resident in agreement. “I kind of swing wide and try to push them out a little bit.”
“I don’t let them do that,” said a frustrated driver. “It’s a mile long the sign you’ve seen to get in that lane, they don’t do it.”
“I don’t ride the line, but I don’t necessarily let them in either,” said a slightly more compassionate driver. “Sometimes, but not always.”
