BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots fans have been questioning the meaning of Tom Brady's cryptic Instagram post since it appeared late last week, and according to some NFL insiders, it looks like the world will get to find out what it all means during Superbowl LIV.
The black-and-white photo went viral soon after it was posted on Friday. The image shows Brady either stepping into, or out of, Gillette Stadium.
Within 48 hours the photo had close to a million likes across all of Brady's social media platforms, and it sparked days of debates about what it might signal for the future of QB-12.
According to NFL Network Reporter Mike Garafolo, the photo is actually a teaser for a Superbowl commercial.
It's unclear whether or not the commercial will directly reference whether or not Brady plans to stay in New England. And it may be too soon to expect such a big announcement; technically, Brady cannot sign a new deal with the Patriots until his free agency starts next month.
However, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said the Patriots are obviously intent on keeping their longtime Quarterback. Sources tell him they are willing to pay Brady in excess of $30 million per year to stay.
Superbowl LIV kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday February 2, 2020.
