FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — From the history books, back into the arms of the Patriots faithful: legendary quarterback Tom Brady is coming home to Foxboro. The New England Patriots said Thursday that they would host Brady during their 2023 home opener this fall at Gillette Stadium.
The team is calling it the "Thank You Tom Game."
Patriots owner Robert Kraft made the announcement on NFL Network's Good Morning Football.
"I invited him back to come here and be with us at the opening game, and let the fans in New England thank him for the great service he gave us for over 20 years," Kraft said.
Kraft has a close relationship with Brady, once comparing him to a son. Brady retired this past February. Kraft said in the video there would be more Brady-themed celebrations in the future.
The Patriots full 2023 schedule will come out at 8:00 p.m. Thursday. We'll learn then who the team will play in their home opener at Gillette.
