QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — MBTA Transit Police have arrested a Boston man who allegedly attacked an elderly person in Quincy on Friday. Police said the alleged attack happened inside Quincy Center Station, on Friday afternoon at about 2:30 PM.

Officers were called to the station for reports of an assault — when they got there, officers said they found a 92-year-old man bleeding from a head wound, with a bystander trying to staunch the blood.

Witnesses on the scene pointed at another man at the station, later identified as Armando Hernandez of Boston, as the attacker. The victim told police he was shoved to the ground by the man and hit his head, but did not know him. The alleged attack was apparently unprovoked.

Police said Hernandez seemed intoxicated, and arrested him on a charge of Assault and Battery on an Elderly Person. The elderly man was taken to a hospital, but there is no word on his condition.
