BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Scores of travelers packed Boston's Logan Airport Monday as they returned home from the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, this year was expected to be the busiest Thanksgiving travel period in 15 years.

WBZ NewsRadio spoke with people who flew back to Boston amid the hustle and bustle.

"There was a lot of traffic going into the airport at SFO, you know, right at the last part where you need to get to the gate or get to the drop-off area," said Brian, a Back Bay resident.

"I left at 9 p.m.-ish, so I think I got one of the worst flights," Emily, a Northeastern student, said.

Emily and other college students lamented to WBZ NewsRadio that there is little time to unwind before classes resume.

"I’m gonna go back to my dorm, sleep for, like, four hours, and then go to class," Emily said.

"I’m so tired," said Jamal, a student at UMass Amherst. "I have to go back to my campus for my school and I have approximately two hours."

Those returning home are also getting the gift of fresh snow. Tuesday's forecast calls for a slushy coating to an inch in Boston; 1-3 inches north and west of the city; and 3-6 inches beyond I-495, according to AccuWeather.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for north and west of Boston from 7 a.m. Tuesday through 1 a.m. Wednesday.
