FALMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Ferry services are making adjustments as Tropical Storm Henri could potentially turn into a Category 1 hurricane.

The steamship authority has issued a travel advisory and is telling people to plan accordingly because service could be affected Sunday and Monday.

Todd Bidwell, general manager at the Island Queen in Falmouth, has already made the call to shut down service those days.

“We cancelled as of this morning,” Bidwell said, “and we try to get out as far ahead of potential weather conditions so that passengers have a chance to make alternate arrangements.”

He says people have been calling throughout the day to reschedule or cancel their trips.

“Our plan right now is to keep the Island Queen right here in Falmouth and just make sure she’s good and secured," Bidwell added.
