BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tropical Storm Nicole is lashing central Florida, and even though the remnants won't get to New England until the weekend, it's still causing problems for trsvelers up here.
Flights to and from Florida were canceled on Thursday morning as the storm came ashore. Orlando was particularly hard-hit by cancellations, with all 15 flights to and from Orlando International Airport canceled as of mid-Thursday morning, according to FlightAware.
A handful of other flights to Palm Beach, Key West, and Jacksonville were also canceled.
Molly, a traveler at Logan flying to Jacksonville, was relieved to find her flight unscathed.
"It's on time at the moment, but that could change, it's a few hours away...usually storms travel around us and we'll get wind and rain, but nothing crazy," she said.
Logan Airport is telling travelers to Florida to check their flights for delays and cancelations.
