BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched an impeachment inquiry focused on President Donald Trump's call with the President of Ukraine, the White House has released a summary of that call—and local politicians are reacting.

In the memo, President Trump is shown to have asked President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter as a "favor" to the United States.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren said the memo is "a smoking gun"—and called for the full whistleblower complaint that set this week's events in motion to be released.

Warren has been in favor of impeachment for some time. Back in May, she said so on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Sen. Ed Markey said he believes the memo doesn't tell the whole story—but that it's incriminating enough.

Yesterday, Markey said Trump "left Congress with no choice but to begin an impeachment proceeding."

Rep. Lori Trahan, who called for impeachment earlier this year, said she supports Speaker Pelosi's impeachment inquiry.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III is also calling for the complete whistleblower report.

Last night, Kennedy tweeted that impeachment was the house's "Constitutional responsibility."

Rep. Ayanna Pressley made her thoughts on impeachment clear with a morning greeting Tuesday:

Rep. Seth Moulton said on Twitter, "The American people have a right to know exactly how the president has been putting our national security at risk. It’s about time we started the impeachment process."

Rep. Katherine Clark tweeted, "This corruption cannot be allowed to continue. #ImpeachmentNow"

"As I have said before, he is unfit for office & should be impeached," Rep. Jim McGovern tweeted.

And in New Hampshire, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen wanted to hear from Rudy Giuliani.
