WELLESLEY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tulips have descended on The Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley for the Massachusetts' Horticultural Society's presentation of Tulip Mania.
Activities include drawing classes, bulb showcases and pick-your-own flower sessions.
The 50,000 precision-bred flowers will remain on display until April 28.
"They're all very uniform in height and size," Executive Director James Hearsum said. "They're all flaring at the same time...."
He said sellers time their breeding to make sure each flower in a set grows in sync.

The original Tulip Mania first hit Holland in the 1600's.
Prospectors invested in rare bulbs with hopes of striking rich at resale.
Hearsum said the appeal transcends time and national boundaries.
"I think tulips have a special place in a lot of cultures," he said.
WBZ NewsRadio's Chaiel Schaffel (@CSchaffelWBZ) reports.
A previous version of this article incorrectly said that the display runs until May 7.
