SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — All She Wrote Books decided to change locations in Somerville, Mass. after steep rent increases.

All She Wrote is the only queer, feminist bookstore in the greater Boston area. Originally a pop-up shop, the bookstore has called Assembly Row home for the last three years. Owner Christina Pascucci Ciampa said rent has increased 130 percent during that time.

Over the next month, the bookstore will move to a smaller location in East Somerville off Washington St.

All She Wrote asked for the community’s help to pay for the new location and moving costs. So far, they have raised over $18,000 to start their new chapter.

“I’ve cried enough times over the last few days, tears of joy, about how much the community has shown up for us and it’s been beautiful,” said Ciampa.
