Two Dead After Wrong Way Head-On Collision In Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two people have died and one person was critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a driver going the wrong way in Brockton.

According to authorities, at around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, a 30-year-old woman in a Volkswagen Jetta drove in the wrong direction along Reynolds Memorial Highway and crashed head-on into a Hyundai.

A passenger of the Hyundai, a 39-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, a 66-year-old woman, was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she died of her injures.

The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton with life threatening injuries, before she was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital.

A Chevy Tahoe was also involved in the collision, however the driver was not injured, and police said he refused treatment at the scene.

Local police and Plymouth District Attorney's office are continuing to investigate the crash.
