Two New England Sports Groups Ranked Top 10 Most Valuable In World

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Forbes Magazine lists two New England sports groups as some of the most highly valued sports empires in the world. Number three on the list is the Fenway Sports Group, which recently bought the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL team and is run by Red Sox owner John Henry. Forbes values the business group at $9.81 billion.

The Kraft family is not too far separated at number seven, valued at $5.88 billion. Robert Kraft, Patriots owner and Kraft family patriarch, also owns the New England Revolution MLS team.

Topping the list is Colorado-based Liberty Media, which Forbes says is worth around $17 billion and owns the Atlanta Braves and Formula one, among many other companies.
