Two People Shot, Two Arrested Following Hadley Shooting Sunday Night

HADLEY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An investigation is underway after two people were shot in Hadley on Sunday night.

Hadley police say they responded just after 10 p.m. to possible shots fired inside of the town's Wal-Mart. A description of a suspect vehicle was given to police by witnesses.

Officers were able to locate the suspected vehicle and the driver and passenger were detained on Route 9. While officers were talking with the suspects, a second vehicle with two victims that had been shot drove up to the scene.

Officers provided medical assistance to the victims. Route 9 between East Street and Mill Valley Road was closed for nearly two hours for the investigation.

Following an investigation at both Wal-Mart and Route 9, two handguns were located along with suspected heroin and cocaine.

The investigation is on-going. No further information about the victim's condition has been released.
