BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two workers from a MassDOT subcontractor have been fired after a car was accidentally stuck on the raised Chelsea Street Bridge in East Boston on Friday.

A bystander, Randy Andrews, caught video of a woman stuck on the bridge in her car as it was raised for a tugboat to pass underneath.

In an email to WBZ NewsRadio, MassDOT said its bridge contractor, Cora Operations, looked at the situation and fired two of its employees. The operators "did not follow protocol," the department said.

The woman drove off the bridge after it came down — no one was hurt in the incident.
