Tyngsborough Man Seriously Injured After Falling Down Bear Hill Quarry

TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Tyngsborough man was seriously injured after falling into a quarry early Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. at the Bear Hill Quarry. Authorities said the person was found unconscious after falling about 30 feet. Apparently, he had been walking on the trails with a group of friends when he slipped off the edge.

The man had suffered severe head injuries and was taken to a hospital in Boston.

“This was a challenging call to respond to given the difficulties posed by darkness and rough terrain, and I’m grateful for the outstanding work of our officers and all those who responded from our partner agencies,” Tyngsborough Police Chief Richard Howe said. “I am also hopeful for the recovery of the man injured in this incident.”
