QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Quincy is holding what it's calling the 'ultimate summer celebration' on Saturday, Aug. 16 on the Hancock-Adams Common.
The City of Quincy and Quincy 400 are presenting the '70s, 80s, 90s Dance Party' open to the public for free.
It's an all-ages event from 2-7 p.m. featuring three bands:
The Side Cars Band, a Cars tribute band; Joyride, a live 80s mixtape; and Tavares, the legendary Grammy Award-winning R&B/disco group from New Bedford.
Food trucks and the Hive beverage truck will be providing refreshments.
Major League Rugby team the New England Free Jacks based in Quincy will be a part of the festivities, setting up an instructional demonstration on the lawn of the Common.
Players will be available to sign autographs.
People are encouraged to be ready to dance and to wear their best retro attire.
