BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Dozens gathered in Boston to hold a rally in City Hall Plaza on Thursday for immigrants detained by ICE agents.
From coworkers of people detained at an Allston carwash, to 32BJ SEIU AND UFCW Local 1445 Union members, members of the Massachusetts community gathered to speak out against the Trump Administration's latest deportation efforts.
The Trump Administration has been cracking down on immigrant applications, imposing many pauses and changes to immigration programs.
Protestors yelled, “When immigrants are under attack, what do we do? Let them fight back!”
Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijene was in attendance as well, speaking in support of legal immigrants still at risk of deportation.
“Let’s be very clear, that the mass termination of legal status has left thousands of formerly authorized residents to become newly vulnerable to detention,” said Louijene. “As we have said time and time again, this is our city.”
