Unprovoked Random Attacks Reported In Waltham

WALTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Waltham residents received a reverse-911 call warning them about a recent string of unprovoked random attacks.

Police say ten male pedestrians have been assaulted in a little over two weeks. The attacks have been happening in various locations throughout this city, between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

"The victims have been alone, and either struck from behind, or struck without provocation," Waltham Lt. Robillard said. "Physical descriptions have varied between white and Black males of various heights."

Police are not sure how many people behind the attacks, but they're urging people to be aware of surroundings, especially when out after dark, and not to be distracted by their cellphones or headphones.
