US Surgeon General Attends Arlington Drug Take-Back Event

ARLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The US Surgeon General visited the Arlington Police Department Saturday to raise awareness about national Drug Take-Back Day.

Thousands of law enforcement agencies held drug take back events where people can drop off their unused prescription drugs to get them out of their medicine cabinets, where they have the potential to be misused.

The Arlington Police Department got a visit from US Surgeon General Jerome Adams.

“My little brother is actually in prison right now in Maryland due to crimes he committed to support his addiction. And I often think if only he’d had resources available to him, like the resources the Arlington Police Department are making available, maybe he wouldn’t have been in the unfortunate situation he’s in,” Adams said.
