BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The USDA is recalling nearly 250,000 pounds of frozen chicken strips because they may be contaminated with pieces of plastic.
The recall covers Banquet Brand frozen chicken strips produced on June 20, July 11, and July 17 with best-by dates of Dec. 11, 2024, Jan. 1, 2025, and Jan. 7, 2025. It also includes packages with lot numbers 5009317120, 5009319220, or 5009319820 on the side of the carton.
The USDA issued the recall after a consumer reported a mouth injury from eating some of the contaminated chicken. So far no other injuries or illnesses have been reported.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service encourages customers who bought these products to not eat them and either throw them away or return them to where they bought them from.
