Car Launches Into Air, Gets Lodged Under Tractor-Trailer

UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities say they're "amazed" a driver had only minor injuries after a crash in which his car flew through the air and became stuck under a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened on Route 146 Northbound on Tuesday morning.

Uxbridge Fire said the car hit an object and went into the air. When it landed, they said, the driver had no brakes.

"The vehicle went across the grassy area, and into the North Bound on ramp, sliding completely under this trailer and just about out the other side," the department wrote on Facebook along with the above photo.

The driver was able to get out of his own door, which was underneath the trailer.

"The operator was transported to the hospital, and we are pleased (and amazed) to say, is recovering from only minor injuries," Uxbridge Fire wrote.
