Veterans Honor Fallen Service Members On Boston Common

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Military veterans from Boston are remembering their fallen brothers and sisters on Memorial Day.

At the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Boston Common, Vietnam veteran Bob Cuzzi saluted over 37,000 miniature American flags planted in the grass. The flags represent Massachusetts service members who lost their lives in action.

“Thinking about my fallen brothers from the Vietnam war,” Cuzzi said.

Cuzzi met a fellow Vietnam veteran Monday morning and gave him a homemade necklace.

“It’s just something that us Vietnam brothers do. We take care of one another when we can,” Cuzzi said.

Cuzzi said he thinks more people should visit memorial sites like the one at the Boston Common, instead of focusing on things like barbecues and having the day off.
