Victim From Downtown Crossing Stabbing Dies From Injuries, Man Arrested

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man who was stabbed at Downtown Crossing Station nearly a month ago succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Late night on February 7, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Transit Police responded to a call from the Downtown Crossing Station, where a man was reported as being stabbed. Officers of the Central District said they arrived to find the victim, 29-year-old Jaquan Rowell, suffering from an apparent stab wound.

Officer said they immediately administered first aid and transported Rowell to a local area hospital with Boston Emergency Medical Services. Officials said Rowell was facing life threatening injuries at the time of the incident.

A day later police said they arrested 47-year-old Anthony Nguyen of Boston for Assault with Intent to Murder related to the incident.

Rowell was pronounced dead on Tuesday, and the matter is continuing to be investigated by Transit Police Detectives, Boston Homicide Unit and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
