Victim Of Yarmouth Hit-And-Run Dies

YARMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio)— The victim of Sept. 14 hit-and-run in Yarmouth died Wednesday, according to Yarmouth Police.

Welton Willis-Gregory, 62, was reportedly walking along Route 28 in Yarmouth when she was struck by a car. Yarmouth Police responded to the scene after a pedestrian found Willis-Gregory seriously injured on the street.

She was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries before being flown to Boston. Willis-Gregory, a native of Jamaica, was in Cape Cod working a seasonal job when the crash occurred.

"The men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Welton Willis-Gregory" Yarmouth Police said in a Facebook post.

There were no witnesses in the area at the time of the crash, which left police with no photos or a description of the car involved. The crash is still under investigation.
