NORWOOD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Even though it is not Thanksgiving yet, residents in Norwood, Mass. are getting a head start on their Christmas trees.

On Friday afternoon, Village Green Nurseries employees unloaded an 18-wheeler filled with 800 balsam firs. Most places do not start selling Christmas trees until after Thanksgiving, but co-owner Michael said they are starting early this year.

“Once they come off the truck, they’re for sale,” said Michael.

Michael also said that they were in short supply of Christmas trees over the past couple of years. This year, they have more than enough trees, importing them from Nova Scotia.

“You buy what you think you need for the season and then hopefully there’s extra. You always got to have some extra just in case,” said Michael.
