Virtual Duckling Day To Feature Mass. Public Figures

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — To celebrate Mother's Day, the annual live Duckling Day will be held virtually.

"Duckling Day is a beloved tradition of over 30 years to celebrate [the book] Make Way for Ducklings" President Liz Vizza of Friends of the Public Garden said.

Make Way for Ducklings is a tale about a tenacious mother, Mrs. Mallard, and her children. Vizza believes this is the perfect book to honor mothers.

The reading of Robert McCloskey's Make Way for Ducklings will be done by Senator Elizabeth Warren, author Jeff Kinney, WCVB reporter and anchor Rhondella Richarson, and First Lady of Mass. Lauren Baker.

The Facebook Live event will begin at 12 p.m. and will also showcase video footage of past Duckling Days.

Following the reading, "Karen K and the Jitterbugs will perform their hit song “Get Down” with some special Duckling Day themed words, and Bonaparte the Magician will perform some duckling magic!"
