BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An assembly line of volunteers put together USO care packages for overseas servicemembers at Terminal C in Logan Airport Wednesday.

The USO partnered with Massport and Suffolk Construction, who provided funding for the endeavor.

"We are part of the Logan community, so we wanted to do something that served the community at Logan and also have an impact for our servicemen and the people that give us our freedom every day," said Sam Sleiman, Executive Vice President of National Transportation at Suffolk.

The 1,000 care packages include razors, shampoo, deodorant, and other daily essentials. They will be shipped out to active duty military members in time for the holidays.

"We want to make sure that we tell them, that they know that we don’t take them for granted and that we are thankful for them," Sleiman said.
