Wake For State Trooper Killed By Wrong-Way Driver Held In Peabody

PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The wake for fallen State Trooper Kevin Trainor was held in Peabody Tuesday afternoon.

A Law Enforcement Walk-by was scheduled an hour before the wake at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, which brought in police staff from all over. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey was among the several state officials that made an appearance at the wake.

Trainor was killed on Wednesday, May 6 after a wrong-way driver, identified as Roslindale resident Hernan Marrero, collided with his police cruiser on Route 1.

Both Marrero and Trainor died from the crash.

A funeral mass for Trainor is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at St. James Church in Salem.
