Wake For Worcester Officer Manny Familia To Be Held Wednesday Afternoon

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A wake for fallen Worcester Police Officer Manny Familia will be held Wednesday afternoon.

Familia died last week while trying to save the life of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in Green Hill Pond. That boy has been identified as Troy Love.

The officer leaves behind his wife, a 17-year-old daughter, and a 13-year-old son.

The calling hours will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. A funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Large crowds are expected and a portion of Temple Street, from Harding Street to Green Street, will be shut down starting on 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
