WAKEFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds gathered at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield Saturday for the 18th annual Walk of Hope for ALS.
The event, put on by the Angel Fund for ALS, was meant to raise money for ALS research.
Dr. Robert Brown Jr. is a renowned ALS researcher with UMass Medical Center. He attended the walk.
“We’ve worked with many people and have got FDA approval for a couple different kinds of what you’d call biologic therapies to turn off ALS genes,” Brown said.
