Walsh Announces Universal Pre-Kindergarten In Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced that the City will invest in universal pre-kindergarten for all 4-year-olds living in Boston.

The $15 million dollar investment would bring 750 high quality seats over a five year period.

Walsh who made the announcement on Tuesday called this a game changer for parents and children.

The program would be in the public schools system and in community based programs like Action for Boston Community Development.

Walsh made the announcement at a press conference at a Walnut Grove Head Start in Dorchester surrounded by parents and school officials.
