MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The U.S. Coast Guard has released a video of an injured fisherman being Medecaved from a commercial fishing vessel off the Massachusetts coast Friday night.
At approximately 6 p.m. Friday, Coast Guard District One watchstanders received a notification from the crew of the 128-foot commercial fishing vessel Persistence, reporting a 50-year-old crew member displaying stroke-like symptoms and requested assistance.
A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew launched at about 7:30 p.m., and safely hoisted the fisherman from the vessel, which was situated about 60 miles southeast of Martha's Vineyard.
USCG said he was transported to Providence Hospital for care.
