CAMBRIDGE, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — It takes a special kind of transit junkie to visit every T stop in one day, but two friends from Cambridge were up to the task.

Adam Oppenheimer and Charles Jessup Franklin recently joined a small list of people to pull off the feat. In 10 hours and 3 minutes, the duo visited all 125 stops on the Red, Green, Orange, and Blue lines.

"On the whole I was really impressed by how well the system ran," Oppenheimer said. "I was scared for like a month before there would be delays or that something bad would happen. For the most part, I think there was no major delay that messed up our plans."

Oppenheimer and Franklin are not the first, nor the fastest, T riders to take on the challenge. In 2021, Maya Jonas-Silver visited every T stop in 7 hours, 4 minutes, and 29 seconds.

"This was something I had heard about before, that riding the T to all of the stops was a challenge," Franklin said. "So when [Adam] invited me, I was like 'absolutely.'"

Although some Boston transit enthusiasts have treated the challenge as a race, Oppenheimer and Franklin said they never had their eyes set on speed. Instead they used the day as an opportunity to explore parts of Boston they had never seen.

"I was never on the Blue or Green lines before this day so I feel like I saw so much more of the city than I had previously," Oppenheimer said.
