WATERTOWN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) —The Watertown High School field hockey team won the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Championship.

This win was against Sandwich High School with a score of 2 to 0.

The victory was not only a great achievement on its own, but acted as an incredible final chapter for the team’s seniors.

Over the past four years, Watertown field hockey went undefeated, with 97 straight wins for the team.

Captain Adriana Williams spoke about this legendary run and how she felt the team was able to get there with their coach Eileen Donahue’s strong leadership.

“All four years we’ve all worked so hard, to have zero losses, it’s crazy,” said Williams. “It was definitely the coaching, she pushed us a lot.”

Coach Donahue also added that she felt the teamwork from the players, the support from each other and the support of their families pushed them further into greatness.

“Not just good players,” said Donahue, “but really good people too. Not just in field hockey but in life.”
