BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — WBZ NewsRadio won a National Murrow Award on Thursday August 11 for the station's breaking news coverage of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
WBZ NewsRadio previously took home three regional awards for Breaking News Coverage, Continuing Coverage, and Best Newscast. This is the second year in a row WBZ NewsRadio won the regional awards for Best Newscast and Continuing Coverage.
The Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards honor outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism and recognize local and national news stories that upheld the Radio Television Digital News Association Code of Ethics, show off technical skills, and highlight the importance of journalism as a public service.
