BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A breath of fresh air.
New Englanders are enjoying a major change in the weather pattern, for the better, as the thick, oppressive heat the past several days and severe storms have given way to cooler almost spring-like air.
From the 90s to the 70s, residents are also enjoying not having to run up electricity bills with ACs running around the clock.
Along with the cooler temperatures, the air has dried out. Humidity is down and sleeping is easier at night.
Forecasters say July is going down in the record books as one of the wettest in years.
“Cool and refreshing,” said one resident. Another said the cooler weather is bringing out the smiles. “People are much happier,” she noted. “Before, it was too hot and people were grouchy. The animals don’t like it either. My dog was too hot.”
