BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for nearly all of Massachusetts from Wednesday at 3 p.m. until Thursday at 1 a.m.
Heavy rain and strong winds could also cause power outages throughout the state, according to Accuweather.
Communities in eastern, northeastern, and southeastern Massachusetts could see wind gusts up to 60 mph. Southern Rhode Island may also be affected.
The National Weather Service reminded residents to avoid windows and stay in lower levels of your home during windstorms if possible. The agency also warned drivers to watch out for falling debris and tree limbs.
Western Massachusetts and the central and southeastern parts of the state are also under Flood Watches issued by the NWS until 7 a.m. Thursday, due to rain and rapid snowmelt.
