WESTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Four people were injured when a tractor-trailer rolled over onto a car on the ramp to Route 128 from the Mass Pike Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. on the off-ramp at Exit 14 in Weston.
Before first responders arrived, a doctor who was driving by at the time of the crash provided assistance, Massachusetts State Police said.
Inside the car were a 59-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from Framingham. The man was flown to Lahey Hospital in Burlington with serious injuries, while the woman was taken to Lahey with minor injuries.
The 28-year-old Louisiana driver of the tractor-trailer and his passenger, a 42-year-old from California, were both taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with minor injuries.
State Police said they believe speed on the part of the tractor-trailer driver may have been a factor, but said no charges have yet been filed.
The ramp was closed while crews worked to get the tractor-trailer upright.
Nearly five hours after the crash, the truck was towed away. State Police said all lanes would soon be reopen.
