Weymouth Man Charged With Killing His Father

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — According to Norfolk District Attorney's office, a 37-year-old Weymouth man is being charged with killing his father inside their home.

On Saturday, family members went to check on the well-being of 61-year-old William D. Walling, Sr. and his son William D. Walling, Jr., who live together on Lochmere Ave.

Norfolk DA Michael Morrisey said at around 7 p.m., the family members observed a scene inside the home that "led them to exit the home and contact police."

Responding officers reportedly encountered the younger Walling in front of the residence, and found the victim inside the home. Walling Sr. was pronounced dead by responding paramedics from South Shore Hospital.

Based on their observations at the scene and information developed by police, Walling Jr. was placed under arrest and is expected to be charged with the murder of his father at Quincy District Court on Monday, May 18th.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will investigate the cause and manner of Walling’s death and the exact nature of his injuries.
