Weymouth Man Dies In Florida Snorkeling Incident

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A North Weymouth man is dead after a snorkeling incident on Saturday off Islamorada in Florida.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office in the Florida Keys says 61-year-old Patrick Martinec was snorkeling around Alligator Reef at about 2:20 p.m. yesterday.

Witnesses say he began to signal for help while in the water. He was brought back to the tour boat and the crew began CPR. Martinec was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead there.

Police don't suspect foul play.
