HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Weymouth man accused of threatening the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham was released on conditions on Wednesday.

Gage Scammell of Weymouth is accused of calling in to the shopping center's management and threatening to shoot down their Pride flag on April 13. Scammell also said he would burn the flag and made some "disparaging statements about the Jewish faith," according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

He was charged with one count each of Attempted Civil Right Violation, Threat to Commit a Crime, and Bomb/Hijack Threat with Serious Public Alarm.

A Hingham District Court judge agreed to release Scammell on conditions on Wednesday, after deeming him dangerous. The man will need to stay away from the shopping center, wear a GPS bracelet, and not carry weapons besides a pocket knife for work.

Scammell is due back in court on June 7.
