WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Weymouth woman has turned her grandmother's cleaning recipe into a successful business.

Ann Joyce of Weymouth runs Annie's Pure & Simple, a family owned and operated business that Joyce founded in 2007. The company makes eco-friendly cleaning sprays made from natural ingredients and sells them in stores throughout the Northeast, including Whole Foods.

Joyce decided to create her own cleaning product after noticing her hands were becoming chapped and infected, and her breathing was becoming labored, after using cleaning products with chemicals in them.

Her spray is based on an old recipe from her grandmother.

"She would take a big bowl, she would pour in vinegar, and then she would take lemons and she would squeeze them into the bowl. She would add water to it and then just take her cloth and just shine everything up," said Joyce.

Joyce's spray is made up of organic vinegar, filtered water, and essential oils such as peppermint, lavender, lemon, and grapefruit. She manufactures the products with her son at a small facility in Abington.
