LITTLETON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Littleton police officer rescued an owl that was trapped in a soccer net, the town's police department said Monday.
Police said the owl got stuck in a resident's net, but the officer was able to free the bird.
The owl appeared uninjured, but an Animal Control officer took the creature to a wildlife specialist for a precautionary evaluation, officials said.
Animal Control is asking residents to take down soccer and hockey nets when they are not in use to avoid wildlife getting trapped or hurt.
