Which Towns Have The Most New COVID-19 Cases In Massachusetts?

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Several Massachusetts towns and cities have reported upticks in newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the start of the month.

On Wednesday June 22nd, the state Department of Public Health released details of where COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Commonwealth, and whether each town had seen an increase or decrease in its positive test rate.

Over the prior 14 days, the following municipalities have reported an increase in positive test rates:

  • Lynn (99 new cases since July 8th)
  • Revere (53 new cases)
  • Quincy (44 new cases)
  • Everett (43 new cases)
  • New Bedford (34 new cases)
  • Cambridge (26 new cases)
  • Framingham (24 new cases)
  • Somerville (24 new cases)

Over the prior 14 days, the following municipalities have reported a decrease in positive test rates:

  • Boston (282 new cases since July 8th)
  • Lawrence (90 new cases)
  • Worcester (88 new cases)
  • Springfield (77 new cases)
  • Fall River (71 new cases)
  • Lowell (51 new cases)
  • Chelsea (50 new cases)
  • Brockton (41 new cases)
  • Holyoke (32 new cases)

On Thursday, the state DPH had confirmed nearly 108,000 COVID-19 cases, and nearly 8,300 deaths attributed to the virus in Massachusetts.

The DPH said there have also been nearly 7,000 probable cases reported in the Commonwealth, and 219 deaths linked to probable cases so far.
